I will leave you all some eye candy for Halloween!

PS. I have 3 boudoir sessions tomorrow, and I cannot wait! I will have some sneak peeks up this weekend.

Sneak Peek - Wendy's Maternity Shoot

First we did a little maternity boudoir, to really capture her beautiful pregnant self.

Then, we HAD to go outside because the sun was glorious!

Today, was one of my favourite shoots. Why?! Because I am in love with pregnancy! I have been pregnant so often, that every time I see a pregnant woman, I am immediately drawn to her beauty. There is something SO beautiful about pregnancy.

I was so honoured to take these photos of Wendy. Soon to be Momma-to-two. Beautiful smile that lights up a room, not a stretch mark in sight, beautiful body, long, lean legs. Wedding rings still fit, and she is almost full term!

We did some inside shots, and decided we HAD to take her belly outside.
We went to my 'secret' spot right Wendy ;D

Anyways, I had a LOVELY time with you, and I wish you all of the best as you prepare to meet your new little one in November.

I cannot wait to meet your new little bundle!

Sneak Peek - R

I had an awesome shoot today with R. Can you believe she has two young children?! She is blessed with some serious curves! (I am so jealous !!)

Enjoy!

Then and Now

[Me as an almost 2 year old]

[Me today]

My Dad found the above photo of me and he asked my Mom to email it to me last night. OK, so it is not a camera (small detail LOL), but it was my Dad's light meter. I was copying him at the tender age of approx. 18-20 months my Mom guestimates (by looking at my polyester pants from the early 70's she said)

I do love this photo, and now I hope they will give it to me so I can atleast take a copy and put it in my office. I just love how some things are meant to be.

I guess some things are just meant to be right!

Busy Busy

Well, as you can tell from the time, that I am working into the night! I think I do some of my best work in the middle of the night. My blog might be lacking in posting, but I have been very busy behind the scenes preparing for the busy months ahead.

I have two sessions this weekend, one boudoir and the other is a maternity session. In November I have seven sessions. I have also booked a marathon session for the end of January. I am so excited! Tomorrow, I get to sit down with another photographer and discuss photography! I cannot wait.

So, there you have it. I have been busy busy!

I am hoping to have some great photos up next week, so stay tuned.

Thank you Barbie!

As you all know, I am very passionate about boudoir photography. I wanted to share a little bit more about myself, and my journey towards becoming a photographer.  Months after the birth of my sixth child I would practice on my girls' Barbie dolls. I had so much fun with this!  These two photos are from a series I took hours before my first real boudoir session.

What a great feeling to be able to do something I feel so passionate about, and meet incredible women at every shoot.

Amazing!

I love GOK!

Gok Wan of the series on TV:

I don't know about you, but I am totally in love with GOK! He is one of my secret pleasures, and one TV show I do not want to miss!

If you have not seen his show 'How to Look Good Naked' on TV, you must! Especially important if you are coming to me for a session soon. He is full of great ideas, and confidence boosters for women (and as I have found out...a fellow Libran!)

Check him out! You will be glad you did! I know he makes me feel better about myself!

Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to my peeps! I hope you all have a wonderful day with your family and friends!

I know I have SO much to be thankful for!

Feel Good Friday!

I don't know about you, but when I am wearing nice undergarments I just feel better. I know usually nobody sees them, but just knowing I have something new on adds a kick in my step and I just feel better about my body over all.

I know as a Mom, I often let this part of me slide. My sexy side. I seem to be all about 'getting through the day' lately.  I want that sexy, playful and fun person to come back. I think it will have to start with brand new undergarments.

My family comes first, but seriously I think it is wrong that I am jealous over how many cute undies all of my girls have! LOL! Now their drawers over flow!

Myself, I wear the same two boring bras over and over again  (one is boring blah beige, and the other is black for when I go out--and that is not very often!) I wear them until the elastic is worn out, and  I HAVE to replace them. My underwear drawer, well it is pretty empty. I do not love my undies.  I do not love my undergarments that is for sure. They are utilitarian, more than sexy. I am happy if I have clean pair in my drawer! They are pretty boring actually.

Why haven't I gone out and simply bought more?  Well it is just something that is at the low end of my priority list. I have a million excuses of why I have not. I am still breastfeeding, I have enough to get by. You may too have the same excuses.

The truth of the matter is that we deserve to treat ourselves! Before we started our family (pre-kids) my lingerie drawer was over flowing with selection!  I would have matching sets, enough for several changes a day if I wanted. As I added to my family, the selection dwindled, and  they somehow got larger, uglier and I had many 'granny panties'  etc. over the last ten years. Or the undies that fit before the pregnancy, and sort of fit after, but-not-quite-the-same-as-before undies.

Well now my baby making days are over. I promised myself that when I am done with feeding our last baby that I would go out and buy all new sets for myself. One for everyday of the week at least

I know since I have been doing boudoir photography and seeing all of these great little lingerie sets just makes we want to go out and shop!  There are so many wonderful choices out there, I just need to take the time to do that just for me.

I hope that you can do the same!

Does your underwear drawer make you happy today?!

A dream becomes a reality!

[me]

I am so thankful to all of you wonderful women who have been booking boudoir sessions with me! I cannot thank you all enough for taking a chance with me, and giving me the opportunity to photograph you all. In January 2008, I had decided that I wanted to specialize in boudoir photography and I had said to myself that I will give myself a year to get organized and start taking boudoir photos. At first I only had the confidence to photograph Barbie dolls and my own kids. Then I got brave, and I did my very first photo session and I LOVED the experience, and most importantly so did she. I knew at that moment, this is what I was meant to do!

I am proud to say, that it is October 1st and about ten months later things have started rolling! I mean really rolling! To the point where I am almost in disbelief at how quickly things are moving forward! My hopes, dreams and prayers are becoming reality! I just cannot believe what a great feeling that is. This couldn't be done without the support of all of you, and of course my husband who kept pushing me to move forward and show the world that I am a boudoir photographer and not 'just a mom of six kids.'

I also want to say  thank you also to my wonderful photo friends (Jillian, Sarah, Carol, Kristy, Michele, Tammy and Hope) for helping me find my wings to soar! Your input, experience and nudges along the way have been invaluable to me. Seriously you all are the best!

To my wonderful followers of my photography journey I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity to serve the needs of women who deserve to feel gorgeous, sexy and beautiful. After all, isn't that what every woman wants?! I know that is how I really want to feel!

Photography helps me to find a balance in my life and that is a really good thing for me! I have been a stay at home mom for over nine years, and over the years  I was always searching for SOMETHING that would help out my family, help out my wonderful husband, and feed my creative needs.  Oh, and be a role model to my six young children, and especially my five young daughters. I want them to grow up with positive images of their bodies, and a great self esteem.

My desire is to use my photography to show EVERY woman that they are beautiful no matter what!

So thank you all for your support and belief in me! I am the luckiest woman!

Cathy
