Scarlett and I have been friends on Facebook for some time, I actually felt like I knew her because I used to watch her on TV, but we had never met until this past Sunday. It was so nice to finally meet up for her boudoir session. Well let me tell you she is just so lovely!

She is a wife, and Mom of two beautiful girls. She also has been on TV before, and has been photographed before which truthfully made me a bit nervous and I wanted to be sure I could deliver beautiful images to her! As soon as I met her, talked then started her session, all was well. My nerves went away I had so much fun finally getting to know all about this wonderful woman.

This hard working Mom has a mobile make up/hair service and is a stylist for Stella and Dot. So for YOUR very own boudoir session, Scarlett would be happy to do your hair and make up for your boudoir session. I look forward to working more with you in the future.

Sneak Peek - Beautiful Bride-to-Be | Boudoir by Cathy Empey | Boudoir Session Langley, BC

Yesterday, the lovely A cam to me for a bridal boudoir session. T her friend (and lovely friend of mine) brought her her to kick off some celebrating! She is getting married at the end of September to her fiance who is a big time Packers fan. We had lots of fun with the garter that is for sure! Well, we had just lots of fun yesterday! Boudoir sessions are so much fun to shoot!

A and her fiance are all set to get married in Lake Tahoe where they both currently live. I wish you both all the best in the world!

A, you are going to be one gorgeous bride. I look forward to seeing some of your wedding photos. I am totally looking forward to shooting your trash the dress session/day after session when you come back to visit again! It is going be a blast!

Some colour inspiration!

Yesterday I went to my friend Sunday's print shop. Pre kids I worked for a large printer in Vancouver. Sunday, and I worked together in the same office upstairs for many years before I left and started having kids of my own. We have now been friends for way over a decade. I still to this day love to smell magazines, and feel up paper samples. I cannot help myself! I am all about great design, awesome paper and good print jobs! To me those are a must!

When I heard she had a print shop in my area, I knew I had to meet up with her and send her my print work. So yesterday, after dropping off my six to my parentals. I had the pleasure of meeting up with my designer Debora, and also with Sunday. We picked my pms colours for my brand new cards. Those brand new cards will work well with my brand new site and blogsite! I hope to have everything up and launched by August 29th. Why the 29th? Because August 29th of last year was when I shot my very first boudoir session. Heck, it could be next week?! Just waiting on one more item! Yay! I promise I will be the first to tell :D

I am very excited about my new colours and brand.

I have been working on a new site, and blog since April of this year! And soon, I will be able to post the links! I am *this close* to being done, just waiting on a couple of pieces to FINALLY unveil!

Always been...

OK, so it wasn't a camera (maybe I was hiding from my Mom but...these are memories :D ) this is me and my sisters after making a HUGE mess. I am in the middle here. My poor Mom. I appreciate all that she did for us growing up. Thanks Mom! I bet you still remember this like it was yesterday!!

I am trying to answer the question, when did you become a photographer? Not for anybody, but for my own journey.

I would have to say, I think I have always been in love with taking photos. But, growing up in the 70's, 80's and 90's I would say I wouldn't think that I could become a photographer. I don't know if I was not paying attention in school? But when I remember back over 20 years, it seemed that the only viable options for careers for me were, nurse, realtor, teacher, dental assistant, secretary. Go to university. Those are the options I remember from a career fair at our high school. They didn't really interest me all that much.

If I could go back, I would have learned more about photography. I took a block or two of photography in grade 11 and 12. I was enrolled in a print production career prep course that spanned two years. I am thankful that my parents guided me into that program. Going into a new high school (as we moved between grade 10 and 11) I was able to take art in my Dad's class. That was really cool to do. And cool that I was allowed to be in his class as a student!

I think I have always been a photographer. I am a very visual person, and had this digital age come about before the birth of my first born in 1999. I bet you I would have done more with a camera. I was a bit scared of digital photography I have to admit. It was fear of the unknown. But, the more I played with the digital camera, the more I enjoyed it. I could take some risks, and if they didn't work out. Delete. Delete. Delete. And the cost wasn't so high to develop the film camera. I could pick and choose my images to develop. So, as my confidence grew using that first digital, I slowly, phased away from my cheap film camera. It became a toy to my kids. And I moved to digital. A great, and freeing choice to make.

I am thankful that I have MANY albums from my childhood (I was first born) and that I have taken lots of photos of my family. My hubby only has a few photos from his childhood. I feel bad for him. Our kids LOVE to look at his baby photos.

I guess I would have to say the photographer in my family would be my Dad. He had a film SLR camera, and that is the same camera I used in high school to shoot my projects with. I really wished I would have kept my images from high school. My Dad took hundreds of great slides of our growing family. He also took photos of me in my grad dress with my then date. When he (the old boyfriend/fiance) broke up with me I ripped him out of all of the photos. Now looking back, I wished I could have had a seniors session. All on my own. I would have liked to have seen me in grade 12. Feeling on the top of the world. The wrinkle free, frown free version of me!

That fresh flower, ready to open and bloom as my Dad used to say. How I wish I had more images of myself and the fun times in my life. But, as I have said before, I am a visual person. Thankfully I keep a lot of those memories inside of my head. I just love how an image can instantly bring you back to that moment in time. I wish that I could have had my own camera to capture more memories in high school. I just wished I would have tried a bit harder, studied a bit more. It took the birth of six children to come to this conclusion!

It is NEVER too late to get started on anything that you are passionate about! Remember this!

So, I have my Dad to thank for loaning me his camera (and passing on creativity to me) and also to thank my late Father-in-Law for buying that first digital camera when Cameron was born, almost 10 years ago. Both such important men in my life.

For the past thirteen plus years I have had Cliff in my life. Two years dating, and eleven years married. Thankfully for me, this wonderful man in my life supports all of my dreams. He pushes me forward when I feel like a failure. He catches my heart, when it cries out. I have so much to be thankful for in my life. He continually moves me forward. When I feel like giving up or quitting when the going gets tough. He gets me back on track. Not allowing me the chance to fail.

I am glad we had all of these beautiful kids, as they have been the best subjects to photograph and to learn with. Without the kids, I wouldn't have had those maternity photos done. And, I am thankful that I could use their Barbie dolls to photograph when I was too nervous to photograph my first practice boudoir session. And I wouldn't have met my most special friends/photography friends in the process. They have been so important to me. And I am forever thankful for them all. Thank you Jillian, Carol, Sarah and Kristy. All such awesome photographers! Each and every one of them following their dreams too.

As we move closer to the month of August, I am thankful that I have been so blessed to have shot my first boudoir session on August 29th, 2008. And haven't stopped shooting since. It has been such a very exciting time in my life. I never knew that I could feel so creative again, and also be able to raise my kids at the same time. Such a great feeling. All with lots of help that I am grateful for along the way. I couldn't do it without my support team.

I strive to keep on growing, learning and photographing the most wonderful and beautiful clients. Many whom have which have grown to be really great friends! I am thankful that too.

August 1st *fingers crossed* changes will be coming! I am just waiting on a little special item. It is in the works. I cannot wait to share with you all! Also, my packages will be changing! Print options will available. I am really excited to share. So, stay tuned.

I will also be offering up fine art prints/canvas/art cards from the spring photography I was doing. That will include my abstracts and florals etc. as shown above, with more selection. They will be easy to order, and lovely on your walls :D

My goal in the next year is to spend more time blogging about my life. I am trying to decide whether to keep my personal family blog separate, or incorporate all into one. I just want to share more about my life with six kids, a husband and my photography.

After all I do what I love, and I love what I do!

Yesterday, I had had the lovely and vivacious Mom of three young children M to my boudoir. A surprise to her husband for his birthday. I think he is one lucky man! She was so much fun to photograph, and has one of the most beautiful smiles I have EVER seen. Totally gorgeous!

Away for the weekend.

The ten of us, back before he passed. I am glad we have a photo of us all together.

Just to let you all know, that I will be out of town for the weekend. Spending some time with the family. Tomorrow marks the one year passing of my husband's Dad and my Father in Law. He died of cancer, at age 57. He died to soon.

We decided to spend some time with the family to remember the wonderful man we lost, and to spend time with my Mom in Law and the kids. Much needed family time.

Have a good weekend everybody, and I will be back Sunday.

Go give your loved ones a big hug. Tell them you love them.

This weekend was a very busy one for me. Especially busy I guess I should have said. Every weekend is pretty busy with the family, and sessions. But on Sunday I was busy all day, from the morning right until the evening.

Sunday morning I had two special sessions you may remember two past clients. K and K. I will call them my Special K's! They helped me with a new project I am working on, and I cannot wait to share it in the near future. Kaitlin was also on hand to make us all look beautiful. Thank you Kaitlin!

A special thank you to another wonderful C, Carol Kerfoot of Carol Kerfoot Photography for photographing me! I cannot wait to see what you captured!

Then on Sunday afternoon, we celebrated my Granny's 88th birthday. Today is her actual birthday! Happy Birthday Granny! I love you very much.

Well, Friday is here! I wish you all a good weekend. This weekend, I am working on a special project, and all will be unveiled sometime in the summer. I am thankful to all of my blog readers, family and friends for everything!

I have two clients picking up this weekend, and I cannot wait to for them to take a look! I have so many favourite parts of my job, but the end result and the reactions are THE BEST! I love making somebody feel sexy and beautiful.

Today I had the lovely M in for a really fun boudoir session. And it was so HOT, that the above skirt caught on fire (just a bit!) This skirt, now has a little burn hole from a candle in the washroom. But the photos in the skirt! AMAZING. Thankfully a great photo or two in it! And no fire most importantly!

Stacking up!

We saw a lot of these fruit bins in Naramata.

Well, we came back from our little get away vacation the Okanagan. It was beautiful. I took quite a few photos, and I am working on them this week. The one above is from a beautiful area of Penticton, B.C. called Naramata. A beautiful little area, full of wineries and fruit trees.

A lovely treat for the eyes that is for sure.

Our get-away ended way too quickly, and I am back nose to the grindstone. I hope to blog a bit more soon.

Kaitlin was a good sport!

A surprise visitor to my blog. I have posted a photo of a man on this blog!

I would have to say this is a first LOL.

Kaitlin and I were in the alley, getting some fun shots this past Sunday. As I we were setting up the shots, up walks a biker dude and he asks Kaitlin if he can take a photo. Kaitlin says sure. He also asked if he could be in a photo. Sure. And he asked if he could stick his tongue out. Sure no problem! (and if you look really close in the reflection of his glasses, you can see me too.

What a good sport Kaitlin was! And we got some really fun, unique shots that we wouldn't get otherwise.

We has a lot of fun with this guy. More photos to come.

On Friday, I had my beautiful cousin A into my boudoir for some photos of her second pregnancy. I cannot believe how PERFECTLY round her belly is. And, the best part was a bit of belly action. Her baby was moving up a storm, and I got to have a feel. So awesome.

We had a really great morning, and finished off the session with a chat over tea. We had peanut butter on bagels, and some strawberries. So nice to be able to hang with her for the morning.

I cannot wait to see who is in there!

This Saturday past, on my eleventh anniversary I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely blue-eyed beauty K. What I noticed right away was the warmth in her smile. And those eyes. The bluest of blue eyes! Sweet K even brought me flowers for my anniversary which even had some yellow in the bouquet.

(just like our wedding colours!)

She rocked her session in the sunshine! Our stomach's talked to each other LOL. Our stomach's kept growling to each other. My stomach likes to do that during sessions!

K is getting married in less than two weeks, and this session is a gift to him. I know he will be a very happy man. She is captivating! Lucky lucky man.

One of my Mother's day gifts from all of the kids. I LOVE it!

I hope you Mom's out there had a beautiful Mother's day. I had great weekend! I had a session with the lovely K on Saturday. We celebrated our 11th anniversary. On Sunday, I had breakfast in bed thanks to my nine year old son. He and I went out and took photos together. He captured me on my camera phone above. And then, the photo at the top of the post is a capture from that great day.

Finally Friday!

Well, it has been a crazy busy week. I have been busy with my family, and all of their stuff. Which leaves a lot less time for me to blog about my life.

I hope I can start blogging a bit more in the future.

Tomorrow, is my 11th wedding anniversary! I am looking forward to shooting a session tomorrow! My husband gets to get out and golf. I am happy for him. He needs that time to himself! We will meet up in the evening for some dinner together and cheers eleven years of marriage.

If I could go back, I would have had boudoir photos done of myself. I am really not the same girl that is above. I have changed so much after the birth of all of our kids.

Our wedding was shot with film, and so we had less shots to choose from. And there were less choices for photographers back then. The choices were more traditional back in the 90's.

Today, I would have chosen something completely different. I wish there would have been a photo of my blue toenails that had my something blue, of my garter. A close up of the gloves, my borrowed I wore (that my Mom wore to her own wedding) and of course the lemons (my engagement ring was in a bowl of lemons), and all of the beautiful details that we put into our wedding.

None of those images captured on film, but I remember them like they were yesterday.

But still, photographs would have been nice.

I believe all women should have photos taken of themselves. If you are considering a session!

Do it. Do not live with regrets!

This afternoon, I FINALLY got outside to take a few photos. Not of beautiful women, but of beautiful blossoms. I just wanted to share with you something that makes my heart sing. Aren't they so delicate and lovely!

I was hoping for some blue sky, but I am still very happy that I got to take my camera out and photograph just for fun. Often as photographers we concentrate on our business, and not so much on ourselves. I have promised myself that I will do some photography just for me.

It is my sister's birthday today. Tomorrow it in my Mom's birthday. Growing up, there were only three birthday dates to celebrate, even though there were five in our family. Huh? you ask? Well, today, it my little sister Amy's UN birthday, and mine too (and my Dad's too!) You see, when we were growing up. My Dad, Amy and I shared a birthday in October (well we still do!) and so every time April had her birthday we would get a little gift for our UN-Birthday. Because she would get a gift on her UN-birthday when the three birthday peeps would celebrate. She felt a little left out!

So today April, I am celebrating YOU. I hope you are having a fabulous day today! I know I am having a great UN-birthday...My wish is that this year will be one of your best years yet! AND MANY MORE!

Happy Birthday Sister. I am so glad you are my beautiful sister, and always a beautiful gift in my life.

Yesterday, I had an long time friend T to my studio for some headshots for her new job as a mortgage broker. So, she asked me and I couldn't resist. When we first met, I only had two kids, and she sold us our very first house out in the valley. By the time number three was born, we we worked together in a very fun place. I was fond of working with her. She made me laugh, and she shared her beauty secrets, where to shop for work clothes and she had this incredible work ethic that I admired so very much. Love her. So T now has her new career, and I had the opportunity to take her photos. Funny how lifes paths weave like that.

T, you are gorgeous as ever, and I wish you ALL of the best as you start your new career. If you need a mortgage, I can pass on her information to you. She rocks!

Well, here it is Tuesday already! I have been editing my Saturday's session and I wanted to post a couple of more images. I had such a great session with D!

Spring is in the air, because this weekend I have three boudoir sessions, and a session to do some fun headshots. It is going to be a busy weekend, and it is only getting crazier! I am so thankful to those who have booked with me. Boudoir and photography just makes me feel so very happy! I just love getting the first reactions from my clients when they see themselves all glammed up! So exciting, and very rewarding.

I also received a very nice email this morning all the way from NJ! Thank you S for taking the time to share the words in your heart with me. After all, this is why I do what I do.

I just have to tell you that I love what you are doing and why you are doing it. Your photographs are absolutely beautiful and your heart is big! I wish you all the best in what you are doing and wish that I was closer!

As one who constantly struggles with self-image (even though deep down I know I have no reason to) I appreciate what you are doing, from the bottom of my heart. Because of the impact of media and their insistence on unrealistic (and surgically enhanced) bodies and superficial pretense, our society is being hypnotically swayed towards disrespecting ourselves because we don't look like certain celebrities or supermodels. The truth is, we are each our own "super" model, if only we could access that self-confidence. I think you are opening the door for women to see their unique physical beauty and tap into self-love again, or for the first time. What you are doing is giving women a look through a different lens, and it's a beautiful gift.

I had a really fun boudoir session today! D and her friend (a past client) came along for moral support. They were the rays of sunshine that I needed today. It was raining AGAIN, but really, living in the lower mainland of B.C. we just see a lot of rain. So we just deal with the rain, and enjoy the day. So, we did just that. We had so much fun styling her session today. D brought really fun outfits, props and shoes. Truly I have the most fun and rewarding job around! D is also so gorgeous, with bright eyes, cool hair, brilliant tattoos, curves in all the right places, and a fabulous dimple. And the most PERFECT smile. She made my job so easy today. I had some great laughs! So thank you D and S for your visit today.

I don't know about you, but I haven't purchased anything special for myself in quite some time. I struggle with should I buy something nice for me? and forget about the needs of my family (like shoes, and jackets etc.) and just get something that I can 'make do with' that ends up staying in my underwear drawer for way longer than just making do. When the making do garments are...well, falling apart.

Don't you just feel so yuck when that happens? The underwear with the elastic you keep pulling off and continuing to wear, when they should be thrown out. The underwear that digs, the bra straps that fall off your shoulders. Maybe you are still wearing nursing bras, or bras from years ago that do not fit.

Did you know you are 'supposed' to get fit for a new bra every six months! Did you know so many of us are walking around in the wrong sized bra?! Yet, we continue to buy badly fitting undergarments. I don't know about you, but wearing those underthings make me feel badly. I don't feel supported, or they give me a bad day because my underwear keeps falling down. Not a very nice feeling.

Seriously, a secret is to start treating yourself to a bra or two that fits, and buy some underwear that makes YOU just feel good. Nobody has to know, but your extra bounce in your step (and not in your bra LOL) will make people you know say hhmmmm. Why is she so happy?! Seriously!

Did you know I am sitting here with one bra strap hanging off my shoulder (and no, it is not very sexy!!) I have to stop making excuses and go pay my favourite lingerie store in Langley a little visit. I have been going there for many years now, and I always leave there feeling so much more positive about my appearance. Especially great after breastfeeding all of my kids. I need all of the help I can GET people! Seriously!!

The point of this posting is to tell you to go NOW! Treat yourself to some new pieces that will make you feel sexy and happy every day. You deserve it.

My favourite place is called Forever Yours Lingerie right in Langley, B.C. Canada. They fit you like never before, and you will leave feeling mighty lifted in more ways than one. (And they are not paying me to type this!) I have just found great success here. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable and get you into the right sizes. You will feel fabulous. On your birthday, you get a coupon towards a purchase, and usually they slip a note in the mail with a card to say thanks. I think that is superior customer service. I just wished they had a website. Their new location is absolutely beautiful, and girly girl. Pink, black and chandeliers. Comfy change rooms. Peaceful. Almost like the spa ;D

I will leave you with their details. They specialize in hard to find sizes too! So go! And usually once a year they throw a HUGE sale. And women line up for this big sale. I know I have. When I was huge and pregnant. Awesome deals. And, they also have a points program. And if you shop there enough they add up, and you can get stuff for free.

They also do a lot with Bras for a Cause. They are a gold sponsor this year! Awesome.

So, if you do go...tell them Cathy Empey sent you! Maybe they will slip me a card in the mail so that I can buy myself a new bra! I need to take my own advice. LOL.

Husbands, and boyfriends are you listening?

B's husband contacted me before Valentine's Day to make sure his gorgeous wife B could receive a gift that she very much wanted...A boudoir session with yours truly. I think that is so great that he did that JUST for her! And I think the gift of boudoir photography will be worth the wait!

Saturday, I had the pleasure of having B into my boudoir for a session which was SO much fun. B did her homework, and brought lots of options for us to choose from! I LOVED all of her colour choices, and of course the corset. (The corset was made just for her, and it looked fabulous on her!) She had her hair, and make up done, and of course her husband threw in one extra item for her to wear (some of his work attire!) and I just thought what a fabulous gift to her, and really a gift for him too. And a whole lot of fun for me. It was nice to have the added bonus of the sunshine, and of course the bright spring colours! WELCOME SPRING! Ahhh I love the Spring!

The awesome part of this session is that B and I lived in the same cul-de-sac growing up. And thanks to Facebook and the social media of today, we were re-united and voila. I love that. She is a busy Mom to two growing kids, and has a busy, busy life! I am glad you took some time out just for you!

Today is the first day of Spring!

{It is also my absolute favourite season}

And it is FRIDAY!

I just wanted to let you all know that I am fully booked now until the end of June. I am so thankful to my clients that have contacted me, booked with me. You all have made my life so much more interesting and colourful because we have met! I look forward to meeting new clients too.

I have one session date left in June. The date is June 27th (a Saturday) so if you wish to book please contact me to book yourself in! June will be beautiful, and full of natural light. Yes!

Summer sessions, get your summer sessions, so if you want your date please let me know I would be happy to book you in. It is a great idea to book in now, you have lots of time to prepare for your session. Save up for some great outfits, start treating your body right. You know looking after the most important person. That would be you. I don't want you to miss out. And besides, the BEST light is for Spring and Summer! Nothing beats natural light for your sessions.

As you know, I have been working on some new sessions styles that I am very excited about.

If you are a bit shy you could always "Book with a Friend" session (and you both get reduced rate to boot!) so consider that, talk it over with your friends. I have booked many of these sessions and I know they will be a blast for you both! What a better way than to spend time with your girlfriends/sisters etc. It is a really fun afternoon. Seriously, this Barbie was my very first model. I am not kidding. Before I shot my first boudoir, I wasn't confident to shoot even a free session on a real woman. I am so glad I took that first step. Today, was a very rainy day. I woke up this morning contemplating if it was even a good day for a boudoir session. It was dark, cold. Windy. Not exactly a perfect day. My goal today, was to find the light. Find the best light, and get the best images I could. Sun or no sun!

K walked through my front door with a friendly face, and gorgeous smile wearing a bright red coat. I just knew this session was going to be fabulous. She was truly a ray of sunshine, and a breath of fresh air. Perfect day for a boudoir session.

She did her homework too! She brought LOTS of gear, and was totally prepared for her session. A model student ;D (A gold star just for you!)

Just like I mention on my website it is always better to bring too much stuff, than too little. So, we spent the first part of our session in the bathroom, enjoying the heated floors just chatting, looking over her wardrobe. My goodness are there cute items available! She had SO many GREAT looks, that I had to use almost all of them.

Today, was one of my favourite sessions (OK I say that about each and every one of you!!) She had a fabulous personality, and a body that I would just LOVE to have. She is getting married next month, and these photos will become a gift for him. I think he is one LUCKY man. Don't you agree!

I have so many faves from today! I hope you enjoy them.

Did you know that it's Beautiful Women Month? I sure didn't but this was sent to me in an email, and I wanted to share this with you all.

Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her 'beauty tips.'

It was read at her funeral years later.

As you all know, maternity and pregnancy is very important and I had so much fun doing my one session of maternity, that I have decided to move foward with this, and offer maternity boudoir. I am looking to build my portfolio, so please take a look!

Impromptu Session | Bake-a-Liscious!

Doesn't she just have the most beautiful eyes! They are so sparkly! I love the colour in this one! Almost futuristic (I also have a WAY toned version of this, but I love it just like this!)

We experimented with an umbrella, and she got really brave! Thank you for doing this!

Colour, lovely colour! It was fun to 'shop' in her place before hand!

Sexy legs, in sexy boots! This girl knows how to rock her footwear!! I have many more cool shoe/leg shots.

{Bake-a-liscious}

On Friday night, I was looking at my calendar. And I could have sworn I had a b session, but nope. I did not. I was just a week ahead. So I decided I wanted to scout out new locations to try some 'Urban Boudoir' aka boudoir that is not indoors. Taking boudoir OUTSIDE. So, I asked the lovely S for some assistance. And lucky for me. She agreed. And we headed out in the MOST cold/snowy/sunny day. The weather couldn't dampen our spirits. We had a great shoot!

So, away we went. This session was just for fun. To use some bright colours, do some creative photography outside. So, I really like the images that came from her session. And we had a blast. You see, this ex-bakery location is on a VERY busy highway. And we got a lot of honks...well SHE got all of the honks!

So, we will try again when it gets a bit warmer. Thank goodness for warm car heaters, and lots of laughter.

I cannot wait to get out there again. It was fun to be creative!

Well, after been totally in a boudoir kind of way (actually I think my keyboard is attached to my fingers these days!) I finally after a mega hill training session of 7 hills, and almost 13 km later, I was able to get my images from my visit to Urban Rush up on Facebook, and a few here!

We are having a beautiful BC day today, and the sun is shining and I feel fantastic! I hope you are too.

Tomorrow, Tuesday March 3rd I will be heading downtown Vancouver to the Shaw Towers to visit the studio of Urban Rush to go talk all about my boudoir photography. I am very excited, and very nervous! (So if you see a guest biting her nails, you will know it is me!)

Surprise Boudoir

I promised I would get a few sneak peeks up from my session yesterday. It was a gorgeous, warm and sun-filled BC day yesterday. So, we used the sunlight to our advantage.

A WONDERFUL session with the gorgeous N, who is surprising her husband with photos of herself. N, it was so awesome to chat all about our lives, share stories and laugh a whole lot. We had a lot in common as she is a Mom to four kids! It is not often that you meet somebody with almost as many kids as me LOL. She even told me she rappelled off the side of a building in those boots seen in the top image! You work it N! Oh, and she is also forty! Hot Momma I tell you! HOT!

I cannot wait to share some more! I will try to get a few more up this week.

Happy Groundhog Day, and welcome February!

Here I am all dressed up, and getting kisses from my 'kissing cousins' at the wedding reception of my sister Amy to Tyler. It was a beautiful, wonderful day!

Here is a candid taken by my Mom inside the casino as most of my kids danced around in their 'wedding dresses' (I am on the right if you want to know) they carried little green apple posies.

Taken at the church getting prepared to walk down the isle. My kids (and my sister April's daughter Abby were flowergirls, and my son escorted newest cousin K down the isle with her ring pillow) I was in the washroom when this was snapped.

Sisters...do you think we look alike?!

And here are the sisters again (night before the wedding in our birth order) wearing hoodies from my sister Amy who had "I love Cliff" I love "Nick" and I love "Tyler" in each of our wedding colours (Yellow was mine, Pink was April's and then Amy and Tyler has a Green Apple theme) We each got married in birth order...

In the spirit of Groundhog Day (I SURE hope Spring comes early this year!) I thought I would post an older photo, but it is February, and the lovely M was wearing pink...one of my favourite colours and it ties in with Valentine's Day.

The weekend of Valentines Day 13 years ago was when I started going out with my husband Cliff. And now in May we will celebrate 11 years of marriage. Time sure has flown by!

Last month I was busy with Matron of Honour duties for my sisters wedding. The wedding was beautiful, and now February is here (do you like the pink I have placed on my blog background?!) I have sessions coming up, and on Saturday I have a very fun shoot coming up. I cannot wait!

So, I hope you are all doing well. How are you going to treat yourself for Valentine's day?! I have always thought of Valentine's as a day to start fresh, take care of YOU day. And if you have somebody to share it with! Great, even better. The best...take the time all MONTH to take care of yourself. Take some time out just for YOU!

I just wanted to say thank you all for your submissions for my call for "models". I haven't had the chance to email back individually as the response was so excellent. I know I am going to have a hard time choosing that is for sure!

Somebody who will be between 32-35 weeks pregnant (near the end of your pregnancy) in the month of April/May/June 'o9 and have some awesome lingerie/accessories.
Some hunky, handsome and hot men* (not photographed with any women)

My passion is photography!

I have been in trouble with my laugh before!

On Sunday afternoon, I had some fun with my camera friends. Friendships that have grown through the love of photography. (and our Canon's!) Carol, Kristy, Jillian and Sarah and myself brought our cameras to Carol's place (we were supposed to hit the streets and alleys but the rain changed our plans, but didn't dampen our spirits!) So we took photos of each other there. As you can tell we have quite a bit of fun (well OK A LOT of fun together, as we always do!) and we got some kick ass photos too. So, thank you girls for my lovely photos for my site. You all made me look so fabulous!

I had my make up done by Kaitlin Hargreaves (she does a lot of make up for my clients--if you need make up, you need her!) She rocks, that is for sure!

It was crazy having four cameras pointed towards me! Just crazy fun! What a great afternoon.

Well, we are into the first week of the new year! I am still here, and looking forward to shooting my sessions that are coming up! I cannot not wait to take more photos! It is the best feeling in the world!

This month, it is in the reverse, my friend Carol, is shooting photos of me. And I am taking some of her. (And well I think there will be Jill, Sarah, Carol and Kristy too LOL) It it will be fun! I look forward to sharing them with you all.

Life is pretty busy right now, with all of this snow, and in less than three weeks I am MOH at my sisters Wedding. It is going to be so beautiful!

Boxing Day!

I don't know about you, but I always look forward to Boxing Day. It is a day to kind of 'wrap up' Christmas, put away the festivities and begin to plan for the new year. I always love the idea of being able to wipe the slate clean and start fresh! This year I cannot pack up everything as we have family coming over on Sunday for our annual gift exchange/appy afternoon. But, as soon as it is done the tree is out of here (ooooh it was a lovely one this year too!) and the decorating scheme goes back to plain and simple. Let the year unfold with all of its goodness! I cannot wait to see what the new year will hold for us all. It has to be a good one! It just has to.

All of my sessions are complete and delivered for 2008! I am really looking forward to 2009! I have my first marathon session coming up at the end of January, and then another one to take place in April 2009.

Weekend

Well, it is late Saturday night. I just finished up a clients file, and it is all ready for pick up. I am pretty much done my sessions for 2008. I am looking forward to an exciting 2009! I cannot wait to get going again. I bought my self a new lens on Friday, I am hoping to have my site up and running. February my special project gets revealed. Life is good.

Today we put up our tree, we decorated a bit. It is snowing, and the lights look beautiful. Pretty much a winter wonderland out there.

My Spring Fling aka Marathon Sessions

Looking for a bit of fun this Spring?!

Once a month starting in the beautiful month of April, I will be adding boudoir marathon sessions. So not only will there be individual sessions like I offer currently, plus these fun sessions too.

I am so happy that so many of you wonderful, gorgeous women have booked my sessions solid until the end of March of 2009! THANK YOU ALL! I cannot wait to photograph your sessions.

What is a marathon session you ask?

Well, they are individual private boudoir sessions that take place in a hotel, or B&B that would have at least five women scheduled in on one day--one session after another. Your make up and or hair done on site first, and then every hour you, me and my camera. Sessions will include beverages, and some sweet snacks and treats. We are talking 'Star Quality' treatment! I want you to feel like a superstar for your session! You deserve to feel sexy and glamourous!

The poll is for me to get an idea of which weekend will work the best. I would even suggest getting a group together with your friends, or stagette for this type of session. They are going to be a blast! And at the end of the session, a gallery of awesome, sexy photos for you! You can then choose items from my a la carte menu. I am curently working on Pricing and the fine details. I will have a little black book with gorgeous photos of you inside, enlargements and some other fun items.

I am going to offer these sessions once a month, and of course if this is something you are not interested I will have several dates in the month open for an individual sessions. Contact me to book those! I will have limited space available, as I have mentioned before I am booking into April 2009.

Details will be available in the new year on my new website! And on my blog, So look for that!

I think I have found THE BEST location for these marathon sessions!! I cannot wait to finalize the details. I am so excited!

All I want for Christmas...

What a great session I had today. I always look forward to my sessions because I get to meet the most wonderful women! Today the session was a Christmas gift for a boyfriend. Well let me tell you he is ONE LUCKY man! We had fun with a bit of a Christmas theme going on. We used a red and white candy cane, and we used red lipstick! BUT, I am sorry I cannot show you more! We cannot spoil a wonderful Christmas gift for this man. When she asked him what he wanted for Christmas he said 'you!' How sweet is he!

He is going to LOVE his gift for sure! It was a pleasure meeting you today K. I cannot wait to hear how the present went over :D
